You don’t have to forget, but forgive. Holding that anger is never going to change anything so let it go and you’ll be amazed at how quickly the wound it left starts to heal.
Nothing helps stress as well as exercise does, get yourself out there, go for a run, a bike ride, anything that gets you moving and you’ll soon feel refreshed and a sense of achievement at the end. Get those endorphins going wild, you’ll end up improving your self esteem and ward off depression and anxiety, all in one!
3. Surround yourself with people who believe in you.
Anybody who is surrounded with negativity is going to become negative, it’s natural. It’s hard but you’ll have to sit down and really think about who you want around you. Are the people who are negative actually your friends in the first place? Surely your real friends would support you and grow your confidence.
4. Laugh more.
They say ‘Laughter is the best medicine’ and I believe it might just be. Laughter, just like exercise releases endorphins which are great for stress and anxiety levels. Laughter relaxes the whole body and who can be down when they’re completely relaxed?
5. Connect with people.
With the power of technology it’s easy to forget to actually get out and socialise in person. We can get lost in ourselves, even if it’s family you get out and see just do it. Go have a cuppa with someone, go watch a movie, just turn that TV off and put that laptop down.
6. Sleep more.
When you’re sleeping both your body and your mind are being ‘fixed’. Without sleep you’ll feel drained. Get into a routine and as hard as a routine is to stick to, make sure you do.
7. Help Others.
Nothing feels better than the satisfaction you get from helping somebody else out. it can be as simple as helping someone carry their shopping, or getting stuck into charity work.
8. Start a journal.
That way if you have a day where everything seems to be getting on top of you, you have somewhere to vent. Somewhere to get it all out, because lets be honest a lot of people don’t find it easy to talk to others and why should you some things are personal and you want to hold them close.
9. Make a list.
Jot down what makes you happy and what doesn’t. Identifying what is negatively influencing you will help to get rid of them one by one, you’ll also know what you need to make more time for.
10. Appreciate yourself more.
Finally, you’re a great person. Don’t let anybody tell you any different. Learn to appreciate yourself more, think about what makes you, you. You’ll struggle not to smile when you realise there are so many reasons to.
